What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial / Ag Loan Officer position at Alabama ONE?
To assist members with their lending needs; perform preliminary analysis of loan requests and determine whether, based on lending policy request is worthy of further consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Interviews business member loan applicants to develop information concerning their loan needs, earnings, and financial condition; requests specific information for loan applications : financial statements, tax returns, articles of organization, etc;
Explains loan programs to members, evaluates their needs, and recommends loan options.
Participates in sales development activities.
Performs preliminary analysis of business members to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money.
If preliminary analysis is positive or neutral, the loan request should be forwarded to the commercial credit analyst for higher level of underwriting. If preliminary analysis is negative, provide appropriate communication declining request.
Establishes the terms and conditions of a proposed loan and reviews them with the business member, the Sr Loan Officer, Director of Ag, and Loan Committee.
Keeps informed of current regulations and trends in commercial loan markets.
Monitors and maintains existing loans per MBL policies.
Reviews all loan approval memos and loan closing documents for completeness and accuracy.
Follows current loans to ensure compliance with terms and coordinates with, Credit and Collection Departments.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements :
Experience one years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field)
Must achieve AOCU defined minimum score on RMA Commercial and Commercial Real Estate Skills Assessments
Interpersonal Skills Courtesy, tact, diplomacy, and negotiating skills are essential elements of the job.
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, soliciting cooperation, and assessing preliminary credit worthiness of loan requests.
Must have intermediate or greater proficiency with all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Preferred Qualifications :
Additional experience in underwriting, sales, or lending
MBA or additional education
Current or past leadership roles in the community
