What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Information & Promotions Intern position at Alabama Public Television?
This internship will provide a solid educational experience to participants by broadening their understanding of public television and the communications profession.
Responsibilities may include:
- Preparing printed materials for press and special events
- Data entry of program & promotions information
- Preparation of weekly e-newsletter
- Updating programming information for APT website
- Online research for special events and marketing
- Proof reading
- Web & telephone research/ information gathering
- Perform additional duties as assigned
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL:
The ideal candidate will have good organizational, computer, phone, people, and office skills and be able to work a flexible schedule. Prefer students majoring in Communications, English, Marketing or Public Relations at a nearby university.
LOCATION AND SCHEDULE:
The internship is based in Birmingham, AL. The duration of internships will be one academic grading period. In the summer, the length of the internship shall be no less than six weeks and no longer than three months. A minimum of 150 hours is required to complete the internship. Interns should have some availability between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Hours are flexible, and we’ll work with you to accommodate class schedules. Interns can expect to work 15-20 hours per week.
