What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Nurse Practitioner (PRN) position at ALABAMA REGIONAL MEDICAL SERVICES?
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner(s) to join our PRN Pool to cover any of our four clinics as needed to provide general medical care and treatment to our patients (pediatric to adults) under the supervision of a physician.
What You’ll Do:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines.
· Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs.
· Conduct various laboratory tests.
· Records physical findings and formulates plan and prognosis based on patient’s condition.
· Prepares a comprehensive patient care plan.
· Submit health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluations by Physician.
· Recommends drugs and other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
· Counsels and advises patients in such areas as substance abuse, recognition and prevention of communicable illnesses; maintaining health lifestyle, etc.
· Participates in the ARMS Quality Improvement Plan
· Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
· Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing required
· Alabama Advanced Practice licensure required
· American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and/or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board
· BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS Certification required
· 2 years of Primary Care experience
· 2 years of Pediatric experience
· Bilingual (English/Spanish), a plus!
