Position Summary
ASCTE seeks an experienced adult to work with high school students (grades 9-12) in a residential setting. This live-in position requires staff to reside full-time in campus housing. This position is fast-paced, and flexibility and problem-solving skills are essential. Dorm Parents oversee residential students' health, safety, and social/emotional wellness. This role supports the mission of the residential program: student safety and student experience. A Dorm Parent enforces residential rules through relationship-building with students. The Dorm Parent advocates for students and serves as a mentor to help guide adolescent decision-making. Dorm Parents must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, time management and leadership skills, and a teamwork mentality. This role works closely with the Director of Residential Life, student families, and school administrators. Applicants should be prepared to work evenings and weekends as assigned throughout the school year. Prior experience working with teenagers, especially in a residential setting, is preferred.
