OVERVIEW
The U.S. Space & Rocket Center (USSRC) seeks a dynamic and strategic Chief of Staff to support the CEO in driving the organization’s mission, operations, and strategic objectives. The Chief of Staff serves as a trusted advisor, helping manage the executive office, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring the smooth execution of high-priority initiatives. This position plays a critical role in aligning the efforts of internal teams with the vision and direction of the CEO, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Assist the CEO in developing and implementing strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Track progress and provide regular updates on key projects.
- Operational Efficiency: Oversee internal operations, identifying areas for improvement and streamlining processes to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
- Executive Support: Act as a sounding board for the CEO, providing critical insights and recommendations on organizational challenges and opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication and coordination among leadership teams, ensuring seamless collaboration across departments.
- Board & Stakeholder Engagement: Support the CEO in managing relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, government agencies, legislators, donors, and partners. Assist in preparing presentations, reports, proposals, correspondence, and strategic briefings.
- Special Projects Management: Lead and execute high-priority initiatives as directed by the CEO, ensuring timely completion and impactful results, including assisting with executive events.
- Decision Support & Analytics: Conduct research, analyze data, and provide insights to aid in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Culture & Leadership Development: Foster a high-performance culture by promoting leadership development, employee engagement, and alignment with organizational values.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, management, or a related field.
Required Experience
- 5 years of experience in a leadership or executive support role, preferably in a non-profit, museum, government, or public-sector organization.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, including experience drafting executive-level reports, presentations, and correspondence.
- High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism in handling confidential information.
- Ability to build relationships and manage stakeholder engagement at all levels.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and strategic planning tools.
- Knowledge or passion for STEM education, space exploration, or museum operations is highly desirable.
