WAREHOUSE WORKER

Summary/Objective

Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of merchandise and related items to Rocket Center departments.  Participate in conducting periodic inventory counts of merchandise and ensure that stock is stored in an organized and proper manner.

Warehouse Operations

1. Pull and deliver supplies, brochures, applications, merchandise, and related items to Rocket Center departments and gift shops promptly.
2. Stock supplies, materials, merchandise, brochures, and applications in the warehouse in a manner that optimizes space.
3. Ensure that merchandise is properly priced and tagged in an accurate and timely manner.
4. Assist with conducting periodic inventory counts in an accurate and timely manner.
5. Maintain a clean organized and safe working environment for guests and employees.
6. Meet or exceed the expectations of the Warehouse Manager for the accurate and timely completion of related tasks and assignments.

Required Education and Experience

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent.  

Experience:

• Must be 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle.
• 6-12 months of closely related experience in an inventory environment OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record to operate company vehicles. 
• Must have good verbal communication skills to interact with employees and vendors. 
• Must be able to safely operate a forklift.
• Must be able to use a 101-key keyboard and have a basic understanding of DOS applications (to run barcodes) as well as Microsoft Windows.

Other Requirements

Requires availability from 8 am-5 pm.

Work Environment/Physical Demands Summary

This position has the following special requirements:

• Walking, and climbing (stairs & ladders) to access other departments and buildings to deliver merchandise.
• Standing for long periods (4-6 hours) unloading stock and arranging in the warehouse.
• Pushing, carrying, and lifting items weighing up to 100 pounds to shoulder height.
• Reaching, bending, and kneeling to stock, store, retrieve, and deliver supplies, materials, and merchandise.
• Seeing, wrist movements, and feeling to read packaging slips, handle documents, carry merchandise, operate hand carts, and drive company vehicles.
• Talking and hearing to communicate with the supervisor and other employees throughout the Rocket Center in person and over the telephone.
• This position involves working in a climate-controlled building that is dusty, noisy, and subject to changing temperatures and inclement weather.
• This position involves working outside in various weather conditions delivering items to Rocket Center departments.
• This position deals extensively with vendors and employees throughout the organization.
