RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions
- Run day-to-day operations of all camp programs.
- Dispatch staff accordingly throughout the campus to cover all needs of the camps and troubleshoot any issues that might arise.
- Assignment of duties on the weekly staff support schedule.
- Execution of any emergency action plans.
- Verify and execute the wake-up and lights-out plan.
- Compiling and entering all shift notes to ensure proper communication between shifts.
- Selection of weekly camper and staff awards.
- Trainee Discipline up to the point of parent phone calls.
- Staff Counseling and behavior up to the point of verbal write-ups.
- Investigation and documentation of camper issues to include incident reports and decampment justification.
- Fulfill any roles as assigned based on Space Camp needs.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education
- Minimum of 2 years of college or an associate degree.
Required Experience
- OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years working in a children’s or educational camp environment.
- Previous managerial experience.
Physical Requirements
This position has the following special requirements:
- Walking, climbing (stairs) to access other departments and buildings, and to experience all areas of the training center floor and museum.
- Swimming to engage in the activities portion of camp programs.
- Standing for long periods (4-6 hours) directing counselors and trainees, conducting lectures, and operating simulators.
- Pushing, carrying, lifting boxes, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds to waist height.
- Bending, kneeling, reaching to store/retrieve supplies.
- Sight, reading, wrist movements, feeling to operate simulators, review schedules, and write reports.
- Talking, hearing to instruct counselors, and trainees, and assisting guests in person and over the telephone.
- This position will involve walking to/from buildings in various weather conditions.
- This position deals extensively with employees and guests who interact with assigned areas of responsibility.
- This position interacts extensively with small children and adults. This position will require the knowledge to effectively and efficiently operate all simulators designated by management.
