RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions

• Organizes and staffs the Safety, Health, and Security department effectively.
• Complies with and enforces all USSRC policies, procedures, and departmental guidelines.
• Ensures Security staff comply with all policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Assigns and monitors the accurate and timely completion of tasks for Security staff.
• Communicates operational and corporate information to Security staff regularly and effectively.
• Ensures staffing schedules optimize productivity and meet contractual obligations.
• Meets or exceeds regulatory and professional standards for interaction and cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
• Meets or exceeds the expectations of the Director of Safety and Security for task completion and assignments.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes

Level of Supervision: The Safety Manager supervises Security staff to ensure compliance with all USSRC policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, while optimizing staffing schedules and ensuring timely task completion. This role involves clear communication, fostering teamwork, and maintaining high professional standards to meet organizational and departmental goals.

Travel Required: Yes. The position involves occasional travel, potentially by automobile or airline, to support departmental responsibilities, training sessions, and interactions with external organizations or law enforcement agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in safety science, industrial hygiene, security, or a combination of related fields preferred.

Required Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in safety, health, and security.
• Minimum of 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Equivalent combinations of education and closely related work experience will be considered.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to patrol areas on foot or in a vehicle, including navigating uneven terrain and sustaining extended periods of walking or standing. The individual must remain calm, effective, and efficient when handling unusual or emergency situations and be physically capable of responding to security incidents, which may require quick movements or physical intervention. Prolonged periods of sitting are necessary when monitoring security systems or completing administrative tasks, and occasional lifting and carrying of objects or equipment weighing up to 30 pounds may be required. Full sensory abilities, including vision, hearing, and verbal communication, are essential to effectively interact with guests, employees, and law enforcement personnel.

This role primarily operates in a climate-controlled office environment but also requires regular patrols of indoor and outdoor areas, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions. The position involves frequent interaction with guests, employees, and law enforcement personnel in diverse settings and may occasionally require travel by automobile or airline for meetings, training, or operational purposes. The work environment may include high-pressure or emergency situations that demand calm and effective responses. Regular use of security monitoring systems and related equipment is required, and there may be exposure to potential safety and security risks while addressing incidents or performing job duties.

Expected Hours of Work

The expected hours for this role typically align with standard business hours, Monday through Friday. However, flexibility is required, as the position may occasionally involve evenings, weekends, or extended hours to address emergencies, support security operations, or fulfill travel and training obligations. Additionally, the role may require on-call availability for urgent situations.
