PART-TIME SECURITY OFFICER
Summary/Objective
The purpose of this position is to enforce established policies and procedures in a manner that provides a safe and secure environment for Rocket Center guests and employees.
Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions

- Properly lock and secure Rocket Center buildings, offices, gates, and other property in an accurate and timely manner.
- Meet or exceed regulatory and professional standards for policies and procedures governing the interaction and cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
- Comply with and enforce all Rocket Center policies and procedures.
- Prepare and distribute reports regarding security violations, hazards, and occurrences.
- Promptly escort guests and employees to safety areas during threats of severe weather.
- Meet or exceed the expectations of the Security Shift Supervisor for the accurate and timely completion of related tasks and assignments.

Required Education and Experience
High school or G.E.D.
Must have the ability to patrol all areas of the Rocket Center on foot or in a vehicle and deal with unusual situations in a calm, effective, and efficient manner. Must have good communication skills to interact with the general public and employees at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Education and Experience
Minimum of 6 months experience as a security guard or in law enforcement strongly desired OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of general law enforcement is strongly desired.
Knowledge of Windows-based operating systems is strongly desired.
Work Environment/Physical Demands Summary
- Walking and climbing stairs to patrol facilities and grounds for the duration of the shift, lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Standing or sitting for long periods (4-12 hours) or the duration of shift.
- Sight, reading, feeling, and wrist movements to inspect grounds, and facilities, handle documents, operate computer terminal, and operate security equipment including company vehicle.
- Talking and hearing to communicate with supervisors, employees, and guests in person and over the telephone.
- This position involves working in a climate-controlled office environment, at a security station that is exposed to various weather conditions, and outside in various weather conditions patrolling Rocket Center grounds.
- This position deals extensively with employees, guests, and visitors of the Rocket Center.
