Alabama State University, Institutional Advancement, WVAS Radio Station, invites applications to fill the position of Administrative Secretary. The selected candidate will be responsible for greeting and directing all station visitors, volunteers, and guests, answering a multi-line telephone with voice mail, routing and screening calls and answering member and listener questions. This position will provide administrative support to the Station Manager and the programming staff.

Proficiency exams administered by ASU's College of Education, and state Career Service Centers are accepted. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares correspondence, memorandums, reports, forms and other relevant materials
- Acts as liaison between WVAS-FM management staff and University personnel, students, faculty, and staff, as well as the general public in providing accurate information and documentation as needed
- Proofreads any and all materials as delegated by management to review and edit for accuracy and content
- Answers and transfers incoming calls as needed
- Researches and compiles factual information from files, records, publications and other sources, and shares information with staff as requested by management
- Receives, opens, sorts and distributes mail as directed
- Manages monetary deposit processes with ASU Cashier as needed for receipt of funds donated to WVAS-FM
- Manages database with respect to annual membership drives and member e-mail files
- Books travel for radio station staff as needed
- Supervises work study students assigned to WVAS-FM
- Creates and maintains correspondence, reports and other materials files
- Creates and maintains traffic logs
- Prepares requests for office supplies
- Performs general to complex office duties with minimal supervision
- Performs office management duties and recommends improvements to office policies and procedures
- Performs all other job-related duties as assigned
