What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Academic Operations position at Alabama State University?
In this role, the Assistant Director will provide guidance and training to faculty and deans on best practices in online teaching and learning, ensuring that online programs meet quality and accreditation standards. By acting as the primary liaison between the Global Campus and on campus departments, the Assistant Director will work to align the goals of the Global Campus with the broader university mission and address institutional policy issue, along with state and federal regulations, to foster a collaborative, compliant environment that supports student success.
Additionally, the Assistant Director will develop and execute marketing strategies to promote academic programs, events, and initiatives. This includes collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure cohesive branding and effective communication, as well as managing the production of promotional materials such as digital content, newsletters, and advertisements. The role also involves assisting with the planning and execution of academic events and initiatives, supporting the Office of Academic Affairs in various capacities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide on-campus support for online education by collaborating with faculty and staff
Serve as a liaison between the Global Campus and the campus community to foster collaboration
Coordinate marketing efforts for the Office of Academic Affairs, including developing promotional materials
Assist with planning and executing academic events, workshops, and professional development opportunities
Support other duties as assigned by the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization, experience with online learning, including familiarity with learning management systems and best practices in online education, strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to work meaningfully with diverse populations, demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment and a congenial personality and a collaborative, team-oriented approach to work.
