What are the responsibilities and job description for the Police Dispatcher position at Alabama State University?
- Receive, relay, and/or transmit routine and emergency call to police, fire, and other public agencies
- Maintain a log of radio transmissions, telephone calls, and other information
- Maintain incident reports of criminal activity or complaints; assist in decal distribution
- Coordinate with local fire and law enforcement personnel for their response to the campus
- Ensure proper recording, accuracy, safekeeping, and follow through of all investigative matters assigned
- Maintain CAD record of all responses and services provided by the police
- Keep officers informed of noteworthy incidents and emergencies
- Collect pertinent information callers
- Perform other duties assigned
High school diploma or GED, excellent communication skills, must have a clear speaking voice, working knowledge of radio 10- codes and appropriate communication guidelines, work knowledge of law enforcement jargon, CAD system and basic computer experience, be available to work a flexible schedule to include occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.
