DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, update, and maintain comprehensive Strategic Communications Plan
- Develop strategic communications initiatives that require engagement with multiple leadership teams and leads to develop efficient solutions and approaches.
- Manage communication projects, engage and manage projects through proper review and clearance of communications materials, and meet established project deadlines
- Develop and coordinate strategic marketing campaigns related to training and development initiatives.
- Develop and disseminate information, documents, materials, and messages through a variety of communication channels (SharePoint, email, social media, newsletters, flyers, factsheets, public releases, etc.) for internal and external target audiences.
- Maintain strong working relationships – collaborate, consult, and partner with leaders and leadership teams across NAWCTSD to support successful execution of strategic communication on training and development initiatives and implementation.
- Exercise informed judgement and take appropriate actions impacting the organization as it relates to communicating strategic initiatives, key projects and/or technology and operational issues.
- Cultivate and ensure timely, accurate, proactive and collaborative communications.
- Work with SharePoint and Web developers to ensure information developed and posted are in plain language, 508 compliant and appropriate to the respective audiences.
- Complete strategic communications special projects on an as-needed basis.
- Related Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Master’s preferred
- Five plus (5 ) years strategic communications development and distribution; particularly in relation to writing and editing, adapting materials to ensure their appropriateness to different target audiences, translating technical content into plain language, relaying communications to large audiences, and writing under tight, time-sensitive deadlines.
- Must have DoD experience; Navy Preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Exceptional skills in, and ability to, co-create and work collectively with various DoD and Military senior leaders and high-level decision makers and additional stakeholders.
- Experience leading and navigating large, complex initiatives and projects, including successfully building, maintaining and managing relationships with executives and other key stakeholders.
- Broad executive level thinker with the ability to relate new trends to enterprise strategies and opportunities; manage with integrity, leadership presence, and the confidence necessary to influence at all levels within and across organization.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must have or be able to obtain Secret Clearance.
