What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant III position at Alakaina Family of Companies?
The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for an Accountant III to support our corporate office in Orlando, Florida.
This position is 100% onsite.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
- Ability to read and interpret Government Contracts and Modifications
- Knowledge of indirect burdens and how they are applied to incurred costs
- Has overall responsibility for overseeing assigned accounting functions.
- Collaborate with lower-level accountants and clerical level staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in directly related field.
- Associate degree required with at least four (4) years of professional level accounting is acceptable in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of four (4) years directly related experience required.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
- Must be accurate in both processes and content.
- Proficient knowledge of Costpoint.
- Cognos knowledge is a plus.
- Government Contracting knowledge and experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of FAR and JTR is preferred.
- Relies extensively on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
