Lead Network Architect Engineer

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Lead Network Architect Engineer to support our government customer in Orlando, Florida .

The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable software systems that support critical simulation training needs. This role requires diverse and demonstrated expertise in software engineering, cyber security practices, and networking protocols to meet National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP 800-53 requirements and achieve an Authorization to Operate (ATO) certification for the network.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of network infrastructure, including strategic planning, technology selection, network security, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Implement advanced cyber security protocols and frameworks to protect systems from unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and cyber threats.
• Lead the design and integration of robust networking solutions, including LAN / WAN infrastructure, firewalls, VPNs, and secure communication channels.
• Oversee the design, development, testing, integration, and deployment of solutions that ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of DoD systems.
• Analyze data traffic and system performance, troubleshoot network issues, optimize network performance and efficiency, and security protocols
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and meet security compliance standards.
• Ensure proper documentation of software architecture, security frameworks, and network configurations for audit and maintenance purposes.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, security specialists, and network engineers, providing mentorship, technical performance evaluations, and technical guidance.
• Work closely with internal DoD stakeholders, subcontractors, and other internal and external Integrated Product Team members (IPT) to align refresh solutions with broader defense objectives.
• Assign technical tasks to team members based on their individual strengths and abilities
• Help build the skill sets of team members and share learnings with other employees
• Achieve organizational goals while adhering to standards and best practices
• Ensuring CDRLs and documents are developed in accordance with program specifications.
• Collecting and accumulating appropriate technical information and data through researching and analyzing Government Furnished Information (GFI) of technical data and publications, engineering drawings, test procedures, design specifications / documentation, software description documents, engineering documents, and logistics documents.
• Working in a team environment, taking direction with minimal follow-up to complete a task / project.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Travel may be required up between 25%-50%
