POSITION PURPOSE:
The job of the Central Office Spanish Interpreter-Translator & Receptionist provides administrative and interpretation support to all functions within the Central Office Administration Building. This dual-role position requires an individual who is proficient in both English and Spanish and can assist with translation and interpretation tasks while managing the front desk duties.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent and two years related work experience OR Associate’s Degree and two years of working experience
Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required
Experience as an interpreter/translator, preferably in a professional or school setting.
Previous experience as a receptionist or in customer service is preferred.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver’s license issued by the NC Department of Motor Vehicles
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet and welcome visitors in a warm and professional manner, both in person and over the phone.
Answer incoming calls, direct them to the appropriate departments, and take messages when necessary.
Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document preparation.
Ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the front desk area by providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive atmosphere.
Provide accurate and professional interpretation and translation services between Spanish and English in various settings (e.g., phone calls, written documents, etc.).
Assist in communicating with Spanish-speaking visitors ensuring they understand all relevant information.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information during interpretation and translation tasks.
