UPOSITION PURPOSE:U   

Online facilitators (OFs) support students with earning credits that allow them to be on track for graduation.  OFs also monitor students taking courses through the NCVPS platform.  The OF also works collaboratively with the student support team and school administration to ensure that the students are earning credits and graduating.

 

Promote a vision of technology-enabled teaching and learning that includes using best instructional practices and access to current information and technology tools. OFs model and promote the seamless integration of content and technology tools and resources to meet widely diverse student needs. They support the learning of all school community members, including those with diverse learning styles, physical and intellectual abilities, and needs. 




 UMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSU:   

  • Minimum Degree Level:  Bachelor’s Degree

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Demonstrated computer skills using Microsoft Office & Google products 
  • Strong public relations and communication skills with students, guardians, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to set goals and develop long- and short-range plans to achieve excellence 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form, using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, teachers, support staff, guardians, and community members

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in an applicable field for applicable level(s) 
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities 

 

UESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Collaboratively monitor, follow up, and communicate with stakeholders through progress reports regarding student productivity.
  • Collect, analyze, and share data regarding student productivity.
  • Demonstrate fluency and understanding with the online platform being used for credit recovery or initial credits as well as working with NCVPS in order to support students.
  • Foster collaboration within the school community to facilitate the delivery and progress of courses that promote learner competence and earning credits.  
  • Model ethical principles, including safe, legal, and ethical use of digital resources and tools, including copyright, intellectual property, digital etiquette, and virtual social interactions. 
  • Contribute to the implementation of the school improvement plan. 
  • Participate in professional development that enhances the online learning lab. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Work is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force.  Substantial amount of time spent standing and/or walking. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

Employees in this position are required to work in indoor and outdoor environments, and come into direct contact with ABSS staff, students and the public.
