Summary :
The Electronics Supervisor / Lead Electronics Engineer is responsible for leading a 2-3 person workgroup team in oversight, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of electronic, low-voltage systems across the district. This includes life safety systems, communication systems, security systems, audio-visual systems, and building automation systems. The Supervisor will lead a team and ensure the reliable operation of all electronic, low-voltage, infrastructure, contributing to a safe, efficient, and technologically advanced environment. This workgroup will work within the Technology department, where 3 other workgroups currently function : computer technicians, systems administrators, and network / telecommunications
Essential Team Duties and Responsibilities :
- Life Safety Systems : Oversee the maintenance and testing of Centrex / landline phone lines (including those connected to fire, burglar, and elevator systems), fire alarm systems (both new networked systems and legacy systems), sprinkler systems, BDA systems, generator controls, fire hydrant inspections, Knox Boxes, exit / emergency lights, and security alarm systems.
- Communication Systems : Manage analog intercom systems (Bogen, Dukane), analog phone systems, and perform cable pulling and data cable repairs.
- Security Systems : Maintain visitor management systems, door access systems, badge ID / key card systems, security vestibule keyless entry systems, security / surveillance cameras, and bus video systems.
- Building Automation Systems : Oversee the support and maintenance of control boards : that include HVAC, field sprinkler controls, and elevator control systems.
- Audio-Visual Systems : Manage and maintain classroom projectors, auditorium / presentation setups, meeting room presentation systems (including sound and video management), microphones / portable sound systems, athletic sound systems, stage lighting, classroom sound systems, interactive teaching flat panels / smartboards, athletic video review systems, and support streamed live meetings and live interpretation of meetings, including computer TV monitor casting / screen sharing.
- Digital Signage : Support and maintain lobby and street digital signage systems.
- Other Electronic Systems : Maintain scoreboards, food service cafeteria menu boards, and perform basic diagnostics on automotive circuit boards.
- Technical Support : Provide technical support and setups for live meetings as needed during the school day, including streaming, interpretation technologies, and screen sharing.
- Preventative Maintenance : Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all electronic systems.
- Troubleshooting and Repair : Respond to and resolve technical issues related to all electronic systems.
- Vendor Management : Coordinate with external vendors for repairs, installations, and maintenance of specialized equipment.
- Documentation : Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
- Team Leadership : Supervise and train electronics technicians or other related staff.
- Project Management : Manage small to medium-sized projects related to electronic system upgrades or installations.
- Other duties as assigned.
