Under the direction of the Vice President of Student Learning/Chief Academic Officer, the Curriculum Coordinator provides vital support for the management of Alamance Community College’s (ACC) curriculum degree programs and related credentials. The Coordinator ensures that ACC’s curriculum programs, policies, procedures, courses, calendars, and catalogs are current, follow North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) curriculum standards, and align with state and local regulations. The Curriculum Coordinator also assists the Vice President of Student Learning with related projects and initiatives that advance academic programming and support student success at ACC.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Curriculum/Program Management Work individually with Department Heads and Academic Deans on an annual basis to review curriculum degrees, diplomas, certificates, and pathways; discuss proposed curriculum changes; vet changes against NCCCS curriculum standards; and follow up with adjustments as needed.Enter programs of study into the NCCCS Colleague system for electronic approval. Maintain existing programs, including degree evaluation issues, overrides and exceptions, extra course handling, Self-Service, financial aid coverage, other grade requirements and sub-requirements, and course equates for associate degrees, diplomas, certificates, and Career and College Promise (CCP) pathways.Track NCCCS numbered memos and maintain a database of changes to curriculum programs and courses. Coordinate the catalog revision process and review programs of study for accuracy.Set up a new catalog each academic year in Colleague/Catalog Management System and review for accuracy.Maintain all active ACC courses, making sure they are set up properly in Colleague and Self-Service and adhere to all state and local changes.Serve as the contact person for the Curriculum & Instruction Committee and coordinate and schedule meetings bi-annually.Work closely with Department Heads and Deans to ensure their deliverables for this committee is on schedule.Collect, organize, review, and revise all submitted materials for Curriculum & Instruction Committee.Prepare and distribute meeting packets and minutes of the Curriculum & Instruction Committee. Curriculum ProjectsMaintain master list of 2 2 articulation agreements, including tracking review dates, notifying appropriate personnel of review periods, and coordinating revisions. Assist with the development of new agreements and MOUs.Maintain archive of signed agreements and MOUs.Coordinate annual reports on the status of articulation agreements, including identifying how many students are participating and their outcomes.Maintain curriculum program lists and archive of official NCCCS, SACSCOC, and program-level accreditation approval letters.Track deadlines, coordinate, and complete three-year NCCCS follow-up reports for new programs.Assist with the Vice President of Student Learning’s accreditation materials and reports as needed.Assist with research on new curriculum programs as needed.Space ManagementManage classroom, lab, and event space for all buildings on the main campus except Literacy, Library, and Skills Lab. Schedule locations for curriculum and continuing education courses on the main campus. Administrate 25Live room scheduling software, which includes managing changes to spaces, managing room approvers and service providers, approving room scheduling, and training faculty and staff to use the program.Ensure that building, location, and room information is accurate in Colleague and 25Live.Prepare and submit space utilization reports to UNC General Administration.Other responsibilities: Conduct professional development for College faculty and staff related to programs of study, 25Live, Acalog, etc.Create templates, documents, handouts, announcements, and spreadsheets as needed for curriculum forms, manuals, events, and procedures. Answer phones and interface with internal and external customers.Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Student Learning, Executive Vice President, or President.Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
