What are the responsibilities and job description for the Horticulture Technology Adjunct Instructor position at Alamance Community College?
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach horticulture courses in our Horticulture Technology program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agricultural science and experience teaching or working in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach horticulture courses during the day, evening, and/or hybrid as needed
- Plan and implement hands-on projects to reinforce course objectives
- Provide effective instruction to students by preparing for each learning experience and using evaluation methods to assess student performance
- Maintain a safe work environment by following OSHA standards
- Maintain accurate records and submit reports according to college policies
Requirements:
- Associate's degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution in Agricultural Science, Horticulture, Agricultural Education, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in an arboriculture-related job
- Computer literacy
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to demonstrate strict safety protocols and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of higher education teaching experience
- NC Pesticide License
