Job Title: Full-time Mathematics Faculty
About the Role:
This is a full-time faculty position in the Mathematics department at Alamance Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of undergraduate mathematics courses, including developmental-level mathematics, math measurement & literacy, algebra and trigonometry, quantitative literacy, statistics, precalculus, calculus, and differential equations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach classes per the College's teaching load formula in combinations including day, evening, weekend, off-campus, and online as the College requires.
• Provide relevant learning opportunities that promote student engagement and retention.
• Stay current in their field and in teaching methodology.
• Create meaningful assessments and evaluate student work according to departmental standards.
• Maintain accurate student records, including course attendance.
• Be available to students during office or lab hours for assistance.
• Provide regular grade updates through Moodle gradebook.
Other Duties:
• Provide accurate, informed advising.
• Engage in continuous improvement efforts.
• Participate in student club activities and events.
• Assist with accreditation reports and live projects as relevant.
• Serve on College committees and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree in Mathematics and have prior college-level teaching experience, a strong academic foundation, and the ability to teach a range of undergraduate mathematics courses.
