Description
Psychology faculty are responsible for teaching a variety of undergraduate courses, including General, Development and Abnormal Psychology. Faculty will be responsible for : developing and delivering engaging and informative psychology courses that align with the college's curriculum and learning objectives, designing and grading assignments, exams, and other assessments to evaluate student performance and learning, providing academic advising, participating in department and college-wide meetings, initiatives, and service activities and collaborating with other faculty members to enhance the psychology program.
As salaried employees, Faculty work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with a required minimum of 20-24 on-campus hours Monday through Friday. In certain program areas and during certain periods, such as advising and registration, Faculty may be required to work more than the minimum on-campus hours. Focused on student success, Faculty support the College's mission by facilitating student learning in and outside of class through high-quality instruction, academic support, and informed advising.

- Providing appropriate and effective instruction.
Teaching classes per the College's teaching load formula in combinations including day, evening, weekend, off-campus, and online as the College requires.
Maintaining accessible office or lab hours.
Typical Qualifications
Faculty must hold a Master's degree in psychology, with a preference for a degree with a focus on in General or Developmental Psychology. Candidates with a Master's degree in a related field may also be considered, provided they have completed at least 18 graduate credit hours that demonstrate a broad and robust knowledge of psychology. Faculty should successful candidate will have prior college level teaching experience, a strong academic foundation and the ability to teach a range of undergraduate psychology courses. A commitment to engaging students, developing innovative teaching methods, and contributing to the growth and development of the psychology program is essential.
