What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Technician III position at Alamance County Government?
Under general supervision, this position is a lead contributor within the Fiscal Unit of the Department of Social Services. As the lead worker this position is responsible for managing the unit when the supervisor is out of the office. The functions of this position are within the Fiscal unit and involve daily tasks that support the fiscal operations of Alamance County DSS. Within this position the candidate must be deadline-driven and possess the ability to record, compile, summarize and perform basic analysis of data utilizing software available.
REPOST
- Ensures responsibility for managing the unit and the work in the absence of the supervisor.
- Prepares, processes and provides oversight for a variety of accounting documents, invoices and transactions.
- Responsible for maintaining various accounts payable style accounts including funds management of trust accounts, childcare accounts and contractor accounts.
- Ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures in daily actions.
- Assists with state reimbursement reporting and ordering/processing supplies.
- Oversees processing and distribution of foster-care payments.
- Responsible for providing excellent customer service internally and externally as applicable.
- Performs other job related duties as trained and assigned.
