What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy (Bailiff)/Court Division position at Alamance County Government?
The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking applicants for a fulltime Deputy/Bailiff position in the Court Services Division. A bailiff is responsible for maintaining order in the courtroom; seating the jury in place when selected; assisting and escorting the grand jury and cooperating with other law enforcement and court personnel with the courtroom. A bailiff must possess excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional and effective manner.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

Education & Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Possess a valid North Carolina driver's license.
• Must be able to successfully pass the following: Oral Interview, Background Check, Polygraph Examination, Psychological Evaluation and Drug Screening.
• Currently certified as a North Carolina Law Enforcement Officer (passed NC Basic Law Enforcement Training)
Computer Skills: Basic Knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Experience)
Work Schedule: This is an FLSA non-exempt, sworn law enforcement officer position. Work is generally completed on a regularly scheduled basis; the normal workweek is based on a schedule of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, forty (40) hours per week.

Position will located within the Court Services Division at the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, Graham, NC. The position does require interaction with commanders, supervisors, other administrative support staff, court personnel and all members of the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office. | ||||||||||||||||||||
