Position Opportunity
A Class A CDL driver operates heavy vehicles such as semi-trucks, tractor-trailers, or flatbeds to transport freight to various locations. The job requires strict adherence to traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies. Drivers must ensure that cargo is delivered safely and on time.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Transport Goods: Safely transport freight to assigned locations, following designated routes and schedules.
- Inspect Vehicles: Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Load and Unload Freight: Assist in the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring proper securing of goods to prevent damage during transit.
- Follow Regulations: Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while on the road. This includes complying with weight limits, hours of service, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
- Documentation: Accurately complete all required paperwork, including logbooks, delivery receipts, and inspection reports.
- Customer Interaction: Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with customers, ensuring the delivery process is smooth and efficient.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the vehicle clean and presentable, both inside and out, including basic maintenance tasks such as oil checks and tire pressure monitoring.
Education/Training/Certifications:
- CDL Class A License: A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with the necessary endorsements.
- Driving Experience: At least 2 years of experience driving large vehicles or operating similar equipment.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to sit for long periods, lift heavy items, and handle the physical demands of the job.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively to ensure timely deliveries and meet deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to complete paperwork accurately and follow safety protocols carefully.
