Position Opportunity
Alamance Foods is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong passion for continuous improvement and process optimization. You'll work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and ensure the reliability of our high-volume production lines.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes (Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, etc.)
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize line performance, reduce downtime, and improve throughput
- Design, develop, and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process issues alongside maintenance and production personnel
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive improvements through data analysis
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and facility expansions
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Document engineering processes and maintain technical records
- Support new product and process trials from concept to production scale-up
Qualifications
Education/Training/Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or similar Engineering degrees. (Required)
Related Experience:
- Previous co-op/internship or full-time experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred
- Strong preference for candidates with demonstrated experience in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing
Knowledge/Skills Experience:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with lean tools (5S, value stream mapping, kaizen, etc.) and root cause methodologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a plus
- Familiarity with PLCs, automation systems, or industrial processes a plus
