Position Summary:
As an IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing Alamar’s information technology operations while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and compliance requirements. This role combines technical leadership with a strong understanding of compliance frameworks, risk management, and data protection.
Responsibilities:
- IT Infrastructure and Desktop Support Management:
- Lead and manage the IT team or Managed Service Provider in supporting the organization's desktop support, hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Ensure efficient delivery of technical support and resolution of end-user issues.
- Implement best practices for incident management, ensuring timely and effective support and enhancing user experience.
- Ensure the maintenance, security, and reliability of IT systems, supporting both current and future organizational needs.
- Strategic IT Planning:
- Work closely with executive leadership to align IT strategy with business objectives, considering both efficiency and compliance.
- Develop budgets and manage resources for IT projects, ensuring a balance between innovation, functionality, and regulatory adherence.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., SOC Type II, ISO 20007).
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and adjust IT policies and strategies to maintain compliance.
- Assist Support team to complete IT questionnaire related to supplier’s IT compliance and risk assessment.
- Data Security and Privacy:
- Implement data protection and privacy measures, ensuring compliance with data security laws and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with the security team to manage access controls, encryption, and data protection technologies.
- Lead incident response and recovery efforts in the event of data breaches or cyber threats.
- 3rd Party Vendor Assessment and Management:
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure third-party compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
- Serve as a liaison between the IT department and other departments, advocating for compliance and risk management practices.
- Documentation and Training:
- Oversee documentation of IT policies, processes, and compliance audits.
- Provide training to staff on compliance policies, IT security best practices, and any new regulatory requirements.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, ITIL) are preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience in IT management with a strong focus on Technical planning, data protection, risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in IT infrastructure, network management, cloud solutions, and data security. Prior system or network administration experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of Compliance Frameworks: Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and COBIT, as well as regulatory standards like SOC Type II.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and navigate complex regulatory requirements.
