About the Role:
As an Automotive Service Advisor at Alameda Auto Electric, you’ll be the critical link between our customers and our technicians. You will manage service appointments, communicate with customers about their vehicle needs, and ensure a seamless and satisfying service experience.
What you’ll be doing:
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers, listen to their vehicle issues, and provide clear and accurate information about our services, pricing, and timelines.
- Service Scheduling: Schedule and manage service appointments, coordinating with technicians to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Vehicle Diagnosis and Estimation: Conduct preliminary inspections, relay issues to technicians, prepare detailed estimates, and obtain customer approval for repairs.
- Communication: Keep customers updated on their vehicle’s status, explain diagnostic results and repair recommendations, and address any questions or concerns promptly.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets our high standards, and conduct final test drives or inspections before vehicle handover.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and manage warranty claims efficiently.
- Sales and Promotion: Educate customers on additional services and maintenance plans, and promote the benefits of regular vehicle care.
- Workplace Maintenance: Ensure a clean and organized work environment, reflecting the precision and care of your work.
What We’re Looking For:
To excel in the service advisor role at Alameda Auto Electric, we are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in an automotive setting.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a must.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to study and obtain ASE certifications (G1 - General Automotive Repair, P2 - Automobile Parts Specialist, and C-1 Automobile Service Consultant) with our support.
- Team player mindset, ready to seek assistance and collaborate on solutions.
Beneficial Skills:
- Previous office clerk or service advisor experience.
- Familiarity with automotive repairs and diagnostic systems.
- Experience in creating estimates and working with various vehicle makes and models.
Note: While specific technical skills are not required for this role, a passion for the automotive field and a willingness to learn and grow are essential attributes and something we will help and support with.
