Appraiser I’s are responsible for:
• Learning appraisal theory, methodology, and procedures for ad valorem
tax purposes.
• Conducting property appraisals under close supervision.
• Applying replacement cost, market, and income approaches to value.
• Analyzing data for property valuation and draw logical conclusions.
• Creating simple scale drawings reflecting property characteristics.
• Reading and interpreting Assessor’s maps and architectural plans.
• Using computer systems and software for data entry and management.
• Maintaining accurate records of appraisal activities.
• Prioritizing multiple assignments to meet deadlines.

recruitment. Appointment in this provisional role will be in effect only until such
time as a Civil Service examination is given for the Appraiser I classification. You
will not gain tenure in this provisional role and will not have all the rights and
privileges conferred upon regularly appointed employees following a Civil Service
exam. The appointment can be terminated at the discretion of the department.

Salary : $80,389 - $87,750
