Front/Back Office Medical Assistant

Full-time Medical Assistant for front and back office needed for a busy multi-doctor Podiatry Practice. This position will assist all departments in the practice, including reception, back office medical assistant and the billing staff. We have offices located in Seal Beach and Los Alamitos, and are seeking a highly motivated and eager individual to join our Los Alamitos staff. We are seeking an individual with the following:

\* Efficiently manage patient flow

Job Duties:

• Answer multi-line phones, and direct to the appropriate party, if necessary
• Greet patients upon arrival, check them into the system and update any information, as needed
• Schedule appointments and perform reminder calls for all upcoming appointments
• Prepare patients for exam and document patients' medical information
• Assist physicians with clinical procedures
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including HMO, PPO, Workers Compensation and Medicare
• Obtain referrals and pre-authorizations for all visits and procedures, as required
• Check eligibility and benefit verification
• Review insurance and patient bills for accuracy and completeness.

Position is paid on an hourly basis ($18/hour). Company provides medical insurance, sick time/PTO after 90 day probation period.
