Full Job Description – Garden Associate The Garden Center at Alamo Hardware & Garden is a popular gardening destination that has proudly served the Tri-Valley area for over 12 years. Our roots are growing with new locations in Dublin and San Ramon and we're looking to add friendly associates to our team. Our ideal candidate is upbeat, creative, and energetic, and has a passion for working outdoors. Gardening experience is a PLUS, but not required to apply. We're happy to train on the job for the right candidate! Job Responsibilities include:

· Assist customers with inquiries, purchases, plant selections, and sales.

· Watering, spacing, pruning, and merchandising plant stock and live good merchandise.

· Stocking, front facing, and cleaning.

· Learning about new items including the care requirements/characteristics of plants.

· Managing inventory, labeling, and restocking plants, products, and displays.

· Maintaining a clean and well-organized workplace and nursery.

· Performing other duties as tasked.

Preferred Experience:

· Experience working in a Garden Center or educational experience in Horticulture

· Horticulture/Home-Gardening experience and/or the ability to identify a variety of landscape plants, pests, diseases, etc.

· 3 years of retail experience desired but not required

Requirements:

· Available to work most holidays and a Saturday OR Sunday

· Comfortable working outside in the elements

· Ability to walk and stand for an extended period of time

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unaided

· Comfortable bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing ladders.

Part-time and Full-time positions available.

Salary : $15
