Server/Bartender/Host

Summary:

Alamo Biscuit Co. & Panaderia is excited to announce the expansion of our brand with a new location on the iconic River Walk! Known for our deliciously loaded biscuits, mouthwatering brunch items, and freshly baked pan dulce, we are looking to add a Servers to our Front of the House team for our brand-new 7,000 square foot space.

We are seeking energetic, upbeat individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, stay calm under pressure, and demonstrates a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will have prior server and guest service experience in a hospitality/restaurant setting.

As a Servers, you will be responsible for:

• Attending to customers by presenting menu, taking, and serving food & beverage orders.
• Ensuring smooth daily operations while maintaining the high standards of Alamo Biscuit Co. & Panaderia.
• Upholding compliance with health, safety, and operational standards.
• Delivering exceptional customer/guest service while fostering a positive and fun work environment.

Essential Functions:

• Taking guests orders
• Running food
• Handling cash & other forms of payment.
• Making proficient sales transactions using POS.
• Properly check I.D.s for guests who appear to be under 30 years old.
• Demonstrating impeccable product knowledge.
• Demonstrating responsible alcohol service.
• Answering guest questions accurately and politely
• Maintaining a clean and organized station including pre-bussing and table maintenance.
• Performing opening, closing and side duties.
• Creating memorable dining experiences.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Experience, Education & Certifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalents.
• Follows all food safety & sanitation procedures.
• Must have previous server experience.
• Must be able to read, write, and demonstrate effective verbal and written communication with Guests, Team Members, various business departments, and vendors.
• Organization, planning, and time management skills with the ability and initiative to react effectively and quickly to unexpected circumstances.
• Ability to build positive working relationships and provide clear direction and feedback.
• Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism
• Handle stress associated with responding to/solving guest problems.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment, as well as a creative approach to formulating responses.
• Always present a neat professional appearance and demeanor
• Intermediate Point of Sale user skills.
• Accurately complete paperwork and reports
• Strong communications skills
• Excellent customer service skills and strong work ethic.
• Must be Food Handler Certified
• Must be TABC Certified
• Required to follow all uniform guidelines.

Work Environment & Mental/Physical Demands:

• Work is performed in a restaurant.
• Must be able to work around changing of schedules, which includes being available to work throughout the day, nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
• Required to perform strenuous walking, stooping, bending, grasping, reaching, climbing, twisting, pulling, and pushing.
• Ability to occasionally, regularly and frequently move objects up to 15 pounds.
• Required to hear, see, speak on a daily basis.
• Required to work with chemicals, exposure to kitchen equipment, exposure to slippery and uneven walking surfaces.
• Required to work in various climate and noise level conditions.
• Required to manage high levels of stress.
