What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brake Press Operator position at Alamo Group?
Formerly known as Rayco Manufacturing, and now part of the Alamo Group Snow & Ice Team, we manufacture heavy duty snow and ice removal equipment.

The Brake Press Operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting and operating the machine to form, bend, pinch, and notch according to the work order.
Essential Job Functions:
- Set up dies & gauges, program new jobs, do edits to existing jobs using CNC type controls to form materials to proper angle to be within designated flange length and bend angle tolerances on drawings.
- Determine sequence of multiple pass operations to make required bends on complicated sections.
- Make set ups for forming special shapes having single or compound radii & angle requirements.
- Set up fixed & adjustable punching dies & gauges for multiple & series punching.
- Comprehend drawings, patterns, templates, & specifications.
- Use scale, protractor, dividers, tape measure, radii gauges, etc.
- Report quality related problems to supervisor.
- Perform general housekeeping duties.
- Proceed on assignments with minimum supervision & direction.
- Work is subject to process & final inspection.
- Meet production output requirements.
- Be available to Work overtime as needed.
- Material handling of own work by way of tow motor
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Requires a general knowledge of fabrication methods, practices, procedures, materials & machinery with 1-3 years of experience. Also requires the ability to lift up to 40lbs.
Must be self-motivated and work with average supervision. Must be capable of working well with others.
