Alamon, Inc. seeks a Telecom Field Technician 3 for its Network Services department.
This position entails: testing telecommunications equipment, including routers, ROADMs, and DC power systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for NEAT/NAT testing and barcoding while ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Telecom Field Technician 3 must have extensive experience working in Central Offices, MSOs, and Data Centers. This position requires extensive travel. Compensation is based on experience.

Job Description:
- Travel extensively to customer sites for equipment installation, barcoding, and testing.
- Ensure compliance with Telcordia GR-1275, Lumen 77350/77385, AT&T TP-76300/TP-76400, and Verizon IP72202 ISS 5-1 Core Standards.
- Read and interpret floor plans, rack drawings, MOPs, and other technical documentation.
- Perform onsite equipment barcoding using client-provided tools, including RTS software.
- Conduct NEAT (Network Element Acceptance Testing) and NAT (Network Address Translation) Testing.
- Configure and test telecommunications equipment using CLI & GUI interfaces.
- Perform optical testing for light levels, continuity, and insertion loss.
- Conduct daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and adhere to Alamon’s strict safety policies.
- Provide training and mentorship for Level 1 and Level 2 technicians.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, supervisors, project managers, engineers, and technicians.
- Ensure timely submission of daily progress updates to the Project Manager/Supervisor.
- Adhere to scheduled site visits and complete assignments within deadlines.
- Perform additional job-related duties as required.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Must pass the pre-employment screening process which includes a background check, drug test and motor vehicle records pull.
- Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors, in a physically demanding work environment and all-weather conditions, lifting or moving up to 50lbs., and hiking over various terrain.
- Possess a current and valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no DUI / DWIs within the past 5 years.
- Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.
- Be available to work nights and weekends as required by project demands.
Work Environment:
- Nationwide travel to Alamon customer sites is required.
- Work may take place in enterprise, educational, warehouse, or manufacturing settings.
- Indoor and outdoor work depending on project scope and contract.
- Exposure to dust, odors, gases, vapors, varying noise levels, and slick surfaces.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with company and government regulations.
- Work may involve long hours in extreme weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Capability to ride in a vehicle for extended periods while traveling to job sites.
- Must be able to work in various temperatures and changing weather conditions.
- Ability to climb, bend, kneel, stretch, and traverse all areas of the job site.
- Clear color vision to distinguish multi-colored copper and fiber optic cabling.
- Comfortable working at heights and using ladders or equipment as needed.
Travel Requirements:
- Extensive travel is required.
- Employees provide their own vehicle.
- Mileage, Lodging & Meal Allowance is provided while traveling to company projects (as per company handbook).
Education and Experience:
- Proven experience in barcoding, including the use of RTS Software.
- Strong expertise in NEAT (Network Element Acceptance Testing) and NAT (Network Address Translation Testing).
- Hands-on experience with DWDM, ROADM, and optical equipment, particularly Infinera.
- Proficiency in configuring and testing telecom equipment using CLI & GUI.
- Experience in optical testing for light levels, continuity, and insertion loss.
- In-depth understanding of Central Office, MSO, and Data Center standards.
- Familiarity with Telcordia GR-1275, AT&T TP-76300/TP-76400, and Verizon IP72202.
- ROADM installation experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
