- Operate the IML Resi drill for utility pole inspection in rural and urban environments.
- Must have technical ability to troubleshoot the Bluetooth connection between the IML Resi drill and the data collection device.
- Monitor and adjust drilling parameters (depth, angle, rotation) for optimal drilling performance.
- Maintain the IML Resi drill by performing weekly cleanings.
- Must have some mechanical ability to troubleshoot and understand the breakdown of the IML Resi drill in the field.
- Must be able to identify wood decay and have knowledge of decay patterns on different wood pole species.
- Collect field data accurately and perform daily and weekly reporting, such as entering daily timesheets, uploading all data daily, attending mandatory weekly safety meetings and being able to read and understand job specifications.
- Must follow all company and government safety regulations.
- Have knowledge of overhead attachments and accurately record inspection findings, evaluations, observations, and maintain an organized record of inspected poles.
- Maintain and keep records on all tools, electronics, vehicles, and equipment.
- Ability to maintain customer relations by making efforts to contact landowners before performing work on their property.
- Must follow all Alamon safety policies and company driving policies.
- Accept responsibility for the safe operations and maintenance of the vehicle, equipment, and tools.
- Must have a professional attitude that will positively represent Alamon to the clients and the communities in which they work.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Possess a current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record with no DUI / DWIs within the past 5 years.
- Must pass the pre-employment screening process which includes a background check, drug test and motor vehicle records pull.
- Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.
- Have previous pole inspection or crew member experience.
- Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors, in a physically demanding work environment and all-weather conditions, lifting or moving up to 40lbs and hiking over various terrain.
- This position will work outdoors, year-round, in all weather conditions, and on varying terrain. May work for long periods in hot, cold, wet, windy, or icy conditions.
- Exposure to dust, odors, gases, vapors, wet or slick surfaces, and loud noises is possible.
- Must always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with Company standards and governmental regulations.
- This position requires hiking and standing for long periods of time.
- Must be able to perform physical labor including but not limited to digging, hiking, climbing, working with shovels, tamping bars, etc.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40lbs.
- This is a full-time traveling position that requires extensive travel where you will be on the road for five weeks at a time or longer.
- Lodging and transportation are provided while working and traveling for the Company.
- Highschool Diploma or GED Preferred
- Technical training or certification in drilling operations, utility installations, or related fields preferred.
