Tasks, duties, and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinates and works in partnership with County departments and elected offices to develop, update, implement, and maintain digital accessibility.
- Facilitates an organizational culture of inclusivity around accessibility.
- Proactively analyzes all County technology touchpoints for initial and ongoing compliance.
- Designs and implements accommodation strategies where accessibility is not yet possible.
- Manages the implementation of regular accessibility testing and audits.
- Assures clear channels of communication for citizens who experience difficulties, with documented follow-up and resolution tracking.
- Aligns the County’s policies with digital accessibility.
- Recommends software procurement from an accessibility standpoint.
- Supports the Executive Assistant in the management of the county website, ensuring that content is digitally accessible.
- Provides and documents staff training and support for building and maintaining accessible content.
- Performs content remediation and manages remediation projects.
- Engages with the disability community to ensure efforts are meeting their needs.
- Follows oral and written instructions.
- Performs administrative tasks as assigned such as responding to emails, answering phones, assisting staff and the public in a timely and professional manner.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of or ability to become familiar with Colorado House Bill 21-1110 and digital accessibility compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn digital accessibility methodologies for various media/document types preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with, or ability to learn about, complying with Web Consortium Accessibility Guidelines preferred.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn website content management systems.
- Strong overall information technology knowledge.
- Ability to manage projects, including collaborative projects, efficiently and successfully.
- Must be an ultimate team player and possess the ability to foster and cultivate positive, effective and trustworthy professional relationships with all County employees, Department Heads, and Elected Officials and the general public.
- Possesses strong reasoning and analytical skills; must be able make rational decisions through sound logical and deductive reasoning processes to make sound judgments, decision making, and problem solving.
- Possesses strong office technology and computer skills; ability to learn and effectively and accurately use various software programs related to the tasks, duties and responsibilities required of the position.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Gmail, Google Sheets and Google Docs.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Ability to read, understand, and compose written information and instructions.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally as well as in a variety of written formats, including live and virtual presentations.
- Must be extremely organized and possess the ability to manage multiple tasks and reprioritize workflow and assignments as work situations and needs change.
- Ability to deliver effective results in a fast-paced environment while adhering to scheduled deadlines.
- Possesses an extremely high level of attention to detail.
- Must be honest, truthful, positive and trustworthy and possess a high degree of personal integrity.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Four (4) years of college (preferred) or technical school degree OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience that produces the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the essential duties/responsibilities of the position.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License is required.
- Must pass Alamosa County background check and pre-employment drug testing
