Job Purpose
The Documentation & Training Coordinator is responsible for Alan Baird Industries documentation, records and training material. They are also the subject matter expert and administrator for the Epicor ECM (electronic content management) system and the Training Management System. This position supports the administrative needs for the Quality Management System (QMS) and does not directly impact production.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Documentation & Records
- Creates procedures and training material.
- Assists others in the creation of procedures and training material.
- Responsible to ensure that production documentation is complete and appropriate.
- Owns the management of documents and records (paper and electronic).
- Electronic Content Management
- Is the subject matter expert and administrator for Epicor ECM (electronic content management) system.
- Coordinates the addition of new record and document types into Epicor ECM.
- Coordinates the addition of new functionality into Epicor ECM (document approval, electronic signatures, etc.).
- Partners with the Epicor (ERP system) administrator to coordinate functionality enhancements and interaction between Epicor and Epicor ECM.
- Training
- Owns the management of the Alan Baird Industries Training Management System.
- Works with supervisors to create training programs.
- Works with supervisors to ensure that the training matrix items are appropriate for the job functions that they are assigned to.
- Works with supervisors to ensure that training is kept up to date.
- Conducts training where appropriate.
- Works with supervisors to create training assessments to measure the effectiveness of training.

Qualifications
- Requires a multidisciplined background with a focus on manufacturing processes and document control.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must have good documentation practice experience.
- Must have good listening skills in addition to excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Ability to work with all levels of personnel from company president to production associates.
Education & Experience
- College diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in document control
Working conditions
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high requiring safety equipment to be utilized.
Physical requirements

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and finger, and reach with hands and arms.
