What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consultant/Research Associate position at Alan Biller and Associates?
Be part of a vibrant, purpose-driven team helping to serve our Institutional clients. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated, technically oriented, flexible and with a keen attention to detail who are interested in gaining exposure to capital markets and the portfolio construction process. The Consultant/Research Associate has client-facing responsibilities and travel to client meetings-mostly in-person is required. Travel is expected to be approximately two weeks every quarter.
Responsibilities:
- Assist consultants in preparation of client materials
- Attend client meetings in-person or remotely, at clients’ request
- Update clients’ Investment Policy Statements
- Respond to client requests
- Work on special projects
- Attend Alan Biller and Associates meetings (remotely): Investment Committee, Portfolio Review, Research and Consulting
The Ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in Finance
- Desire to pursue a CFA and CAIA (or in-process)
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience
- Sound understanding of economic and investment theory and practices
- Solid quantitative and analytical skills
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Excel, Morningstar, Bloomberg and eVestment
- A self-starter with strong organizational skills, problem solving skills and attention to detail
- High comfort level with working independently and meeting tight deadlines
- Familiarity with investment consulting

We expect the base salary for this position to be in the $90,000 to $110,000 range, plus bonus. In determining the base salary, relevant and number of years’ experience are considered.
