Purpose of PositionThe Staff Accountant will play an integral part in our accounting and operations team. The individual will report to the Controller but will also work hand in hand with our project and operations managers. This position will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day accounting operations across our diverse portfolio. The ideal candidate is someone who has exceptional attention to detail, ability to focus on different dynamic situations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within complex and evolving environments. Job Functions & ResponsibilitiesAll Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable entry and management across multiple entitiesWeekly payroll and time tracking oversightConstruction project cost accounting and purchase orders Vendor correspondence and complianceSubcontractor insurance and lien waiver tracking and credit applications from vendors Coding such items as invoices, expense reports, check requests, with correct codes conforming to standard procedures Weekly and monthly project budget tracking Daily hotel accounting including daily revenue reconciliationAssist in hotel inventoriesPreparing month end reconciliations of all General Ledger accounts including loansComplete year end tax prep including 941s, W-2s, 1099s, and InsuranceExcellent understanding of governmental guidelines, tax laws that affect the companyHelp develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and regulationsAssist with the preparation monthly cash flow projectionsAssist with the preparation Subcontractor contract agreementsPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports Assist with the preparation of budgets across all our entitiesAssist with the development of short- and long-term financial plans for multiple entitiesAssist in external and internal auditsUse multiple technology platforms to create efficiencies and workflows The ability to solve complex problems which arise within multiple entity accounting systemsMust be able to remain in the stationary position for 50% of the time.
