Machine Operator
Job Summary
This position is responsible for operating or assisting in a direct mail manufacturing environment with a focus on reduction in cost related errors, exceeding client expectation, and driving a safe workplace. This position helps to prepare the highest quality mailing pieces/packages as required by operating high speed folder machinery efficiently and safely
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates and maintains equipment
- Performs adjustments on machine per job instructions
- Meets and exceed production standards and maintaining customer quality requirements
- Communicates job status and production concerns/issues during shift change
- Follows all safety policies and procedures
- Adheres to all current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Troubleshoots problems with minimum delay time
- Communicates with Management on any problems developing and corrective action
- Works with urgency when equipment is down to maintain production requirements
- Continues learning new and improved processes to achieve increased production
- Facilitates teamwork among team members and between shifts
- Performs additional responsibilities as required to ensure the team's success.
Position Requirements
- 2 years manufacturing experience (Preferred)
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to install, maintain, and repair equipment following safety guidelines.
- Knowledge of predictive and productive maintenance systems
- Able to stand for long periods, bend, and perform repetitive motions.
- Able to move and lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Able to stand on concrete for 10-12 hours.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow written and verbal instructions. Willingness to learn, develop new skills, and be accountable for quality
- Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Adherence to safety procedures (including lock-out/tag-out and HazCom) and departmental SOPs.
