Alaris Health at West Orange, a 120 bed-skilled nursing Center in West Orange, New Jersey, seeks a physical therapist to organize and conduct physical therapy programs for the Center to facilitate rehabilitation and direct client participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance performance. Additional responsibilities include :
- evaluating residents, developing appropriate treatment goals and methods and implementing the physical therapy treatment plan
- designing and fitting adaptive devices and training residents how to use adaptive devices
- selecting physical agent modalities suited to each individual’s needs, physical capacity, mobility activities and diagnosis
- instructing residents in the skills and techniques required for participation in mobility activities and evaluating their progress, attitudes and behavior as related to rehabilitative potential
- promoting a safe environment and enforcing the elimination of fire and safety hazards
- attending and contributing to resident care, staffing conferences and other related meetings
- supervising supportive personnel in accordance with state and professional standards
- conducting training programs and participating in training medical, nursing and other personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives
