Job Description:
Alarm, Fire & Security, LLC is a local independently owned and operated full-service Fire Sprinkler and Fire Alarm Company. We are members of AWWA (American Water Works Association), NFPA (National Fire Protection Association, AFSA (American Fire Sprinkler Association), DHEC (South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control) & Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce. Our technicians are TREEO, DHEC & NICET certified, keeping current with local, state, and national codes through continuing education.
Alarm, Fire & Security has an immediate opening for a talented and motivated Security Manager. The primary scope of the Security Manager is to manage the day-to-day operations of department, including hiring, training, disciplining, and terminating staff. The Security Manager will build, improve and maintain relationships with clients and employees: develop & retain staff; coordinate needed support services and solve problems to effectively run the department. Responsibilities will also include overseeing the maintenance of weekly operating schedules and the completion of payroll for assigned security personnel, as well as providing after-hour emergency response as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ideal candidate will provide leadership to employees and develop and maintain strong relationships with customers. The Security Manager shall implement, oversee, and continually refine an integrated Security Department for the client community by developing a positive relationship with all segments while enforcing client rules and local, state, and federal laws. Maintain Safety and Security standard operating procedures.
· Ensure the client site is provided with high-quality security services to protect people and property.
· Build, improve, and maintain effective relationships with both clients and employees.
· Coordinate necessary support services to effectively manage client sites to meet or exceed financial and operational goals and provide quality customer service
· Carrying out audits in accordance with the Quality Assurance program.
· Assists in administering programs and emergency preparedness.
· Conducts hazard and risk assessments at the property to include quarterly Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)/SAFETY audits, incident tracking, and the hazard abatement process.
· Comply with applicable laws and safety regulations.
· Follow proper key control guidelines in loss prevention and in the property.
· Handles complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

Responsibilities:

· Manage facility access security badge system.
· Communicates critical information to Loss Prevention officers based on knowledge gained at leadership meetings.
· Emphasizes teamwork, close working relationships with other departments and assertive hospitality to serve as a deterrent to crime.

· Identifies the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge or skills.

REQUIREMENTS:
Manages the daily functions of the security department to maintain profitability and growth.
- High school diploma or GED; 4 years' experience in security or related professional area.
- Two plus years of previous management experience is required.
- Applicants must be able to carry out all tasks with high attention to detail in a timely and accurate manner,
- Applicants must have excellent customer service, good communication skills and a professional appearance.
- Candidates must be willing to work in all weather conditions and able to work proficiently unsupervised.
- Candidates must be capable of standing and/or walking for long periods of time and distance.
- All applicants must have a clean background.
- Meets quality standards and customer expectations on a daily basis.
- Identifies the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.
- Inspects and critiques the performance of the loss prevention department to establish and maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service.
