Overview
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial CCTV systems, fire alarm systems, and burglar alarm systems. As a Low Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various low voltage systems, ensuring that they operate efficiently and effectively. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to work independently in the field while providing exceptional service to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure low voltage systems including commercial CCTV systems, fire alarm systems, and burglar alarm systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of existing systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Adhere to National Electrical Code (NEC) standards during installation and maintenance processes.
- Build strong relationships with customers through effective communication and service technician skills.
- Document all service calls, installations, and repairs accurately for record-keeping purposes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technology related to low voltage systems.
Qualifications
- Education & Certification: High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical training or certification in low voltage systems is preferred.
- Experience: Experience in low voltage electrical installations and maintenance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with wiring diagrams, schematics, and the use of electrical testing equipment.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with local electrical codes and standards.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and climb ladders or work at heights.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose system issues, perform repairs, and ensure all equipment is functioning to manufacturer and company specifications.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of installations, service work, and inventory of materials.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal codes, as well as company safety standards.
- Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients and addressing any technical concerns in a timely manner.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.
