Medical Phone Operator/Receptionist

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phone Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and clients, providing exceptional customer service while managing incoming calls and assisting with various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a thorough understanding of medical terminology, ensuring that all interactions are handled with professionalism and care.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously, providing assistance to patients and clients as needed.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient inquiries effectively.
• Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient concerns and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, coding, and 10 key typing as required.
• Collaborate with medical receptionists and other staff to ensure smooth operations within the office.

Experience

• Previous experience in a customer service or patient service role is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and coding practices is highly desirable.
• Experience using eClinicalWorks or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
• Strong administrative skills with attention to detail in documentation review.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly demeanor are essential for success in this role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
