POSITION DETAILS
Ability to work well with others in a multicultural environment.
Must be available to work overtime as required. Shift length is 12-16 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Perform duties safely, responsibly and efficiently.
Timely and predictable attendance.
Perform tasks as assigned.
Exhibit professionalism and quality work standards.
Follow company and OSHA safety polices, including but not limited to policies related to Covid-19.
POSITION DETAILS
Assist the Messhall Lead in various tasks.
Assists with breaking down buffet lines and storing leftovers in accordance with health and safety standards.
Assists with food and supplies inventory.
Assists with serving meals from the buffet line.
With coworkers, cleans buffet line, kitchen, and equipment after every meal.
Maintain a clean working environment.
Rotates food in adherence to health and safety guidelines.
Use a wide variety of food preparation procedures and equipment, including various cutting instruments.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Remotely located in Ketchikan, AK. Must be willing to travel by airplane to the site.
Approximate season contract June-1st week of September (dependent on the salmon run)
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous kitchen / cooking experience (1 years)
Able to work effectively as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Willing to follow directions, adhere to policies and procedures, and abide by safety and sanitation rules.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to adhere to policies and procedures.
Reliability and ability to work long hours.
Ability to maintain respectful relationships with other employees in a stressful environment.
Ability to communicate with and listen to coworkers.
Must have or obtain an up-to-date ServSafe Certification upon start date. (We can help you in camp or you can, and we will reimburse you if hired)
Availability to work the whole season.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to be on your feet for 12-16 hours per shift.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
Must be able to work with and around seafood.
Must be able to tolerate daily or extended periods of chopping, peeling and knifework
COMPENSATION
17.00 / hr starting wage.
Airfare is provided from the closest international airport.
Room and Board are provided on-site.
Reimbursement (if applicable) with the ServSafe Certificate.
