JOB TITLE: Cardiac Monitor Technician
DEPARTMENT: EP
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Cardiac Monitoring Technician is responsible for the interpretation and reporting of data received from patients wearing our various monitors to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and electrophysiology patients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Read cardiac rhythms and monitor reports
- Educates patients on use of Holter Monitors, Cardiac Event Monitor and Sleep Monitor
- Evaluate and effectively communicate ECG abnormalities to RN/physicians based on established notification criteria
- Process, analyze and interpret rhythms and arrhythmias for clinical accuracy and completeness
- Download Holter monitors on a daily basis
- Document and bill service charges in accordance with departmental policies and procedures
- Follows proper event protocols, edits and interprets EKG rhythm tracings
- Notifies physicians of cardiac rhythms outside of normal parameters as per policy
- Troubleshoots event monitors, solves problems with use of monitors and answers patients questions, as needed
- Assist patients with clinical questions and forwards patient concerns to appropriate people in company
- Great work ethic and a desire to provide high quality outcomes (reports) to our customers and patients
- Continuously develop clinical knowledge, especially ECG rhythm interpretation skills
PAY RANGE: $20-$26/hr to start (dependent upon experience and education)

Education: Minimum: High School Diploma
Experience: Preferred: Experience in Cardiac Telemetry monitoring or EKG, technical training or education in EKG monitoring, medical assisting, or nursing.
Alternative to Minimal Qualifications: Appropriate education and 3 years of experience may be substituted for education requirement.
Certificate/License: BLS, CRAT/CCT Certification, RN, or Paramedic/EMT,
Salary : $20 - $26
