JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse- Primary to MD
DEPARTMENT: EP
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Registered nurse is a nonexempt position who functions as a member of the healthcare delivery team performing delegated clinical and administrative procedures within the supervision physician’s scope of practice consistent with the LPN’s education, training and experience. Such duties shall not constitute the practice of medicine.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Electro Physiologist Manager
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finer dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected visual and hearing to normal ranges. Requires exposure to communicable diseases and/or bodily fluids. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs all duties with active and continuous supervision by not necessarily requiring physical presence of supervising physician at time and place that services are rendered.
- Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments. Maintains exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed.
- Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes patient histories and vital signs.
- Assists with patient 12 lead EKG’s and treadmill tests. Administers prescribed treatments in accordance with AHI standards. Dispenses oral medication as directed.
- Observes, records and reposts patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
- Assists with scheduling of tests, treatments and patient procedures. Provides patient education. Ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations.
- Maintains timely flow of patients.
- Screens telephone calls for referral to physician. Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatments instructions.
PAY RANGE: $38-45/hr to start (dependent upon experience and education)
SIGN ON BONUS: $10,000

Qualifications
Education:
Minimum: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Experience:
Preferred: Cardiology experience preferred
Certificate/License: Current Alaska State licensure for RN required. Current CPR certification required and ACLS training asset.
Salary : $38 - $45
