What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vehicle and Equipment Coordinator position at Alaska Premier Auctions and Appraisals LLC?
Principal Responsibility: The Vehicle & Equipment Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Vehicle Manager with all of the tasks and functions involved with receiving and disposing of motor vehicles consigned to APAA for auction. This includes photographing the vehicles & equipment for sale and the publication in the auction catalog. They assist in troubleshooting vehicles & equipment experiencing mechanical issues, transportation, and diagnostic checks to ensure vehicle & equipment safety. The Vehicle & Equipment Coordinator also performs car wash duties, removing snow and ice, and assisting with the processing of all vehicle & equipment intakes.
Position is: Hourly Position Reports to: Vehicle & Equipment Sales Manager
The Vehicle Sales Coordinator is Responsible For:
- Complete intake and pickup process for vehicles & equipment, maintaining accurate and complete logbooks following APAA guidelines.
- Schedule and participate in the drop-off or pick-up process for vehicles & equipment consigned to APAA for auction.
- Assist in managing vehicles & equipment, photographing for sale, writing detailed descriptions, verifying vehicles & equipment are working, and organizing the yard.
- Help the Vehicle Manager diagnose, assess, and disclose mechanical, electrical, and other technical issues affecting the fleet of vehicles.
- Wash, vacuum, and fuel vehicles at an off-site location as required.
- Drive, park, and move motor vehicles & equipment. Jumpstart if required.
- Act as a safety checkpoint by performing visual inspections to ensure vehicles adhere to safety standards. Report any safety concerns to the Vehicle and Equipment Manager.
- Assist with the preparation of vehicle &equipment registration, title, tags, and any other legal documentation.
- Ensure the proper and secure storage of consignor keys as well as the vehicles & equipment.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience with a digital camera or smartphone with a camera preferred.
- Knowledge of photography & lighting techniques is preferred.
- Ability to lawfully operate motor vehicles, other than commercial vehicles, equipped with standard and automatic transmissions.
- Familiarity with gasoline and diesel engines, and 2-volt electrical systems.
- Ability to obtain a Forklift License and drive Forklift.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to maintain a positive, supportive, solution-focused attitude.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds independently safely, and heavier weights with team lift methods safely as well.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while cataloging inventory.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to work in outdoor hot or cold environments.
- Minimum of one year of photography experience and/or training are preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in MS Office and/or Google Workspace Applications.
- Valid Alaska Driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background and reference check.

Schedule: M-F, 9a-6p, 1-Hour Unpaid Break for an 8-Hour Shift
