Job Summary
A Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality care to critically ill patients in the ICU, Intermediate Care Unit, or Emergency Room. The nurse assesses patient condition, identifies changes in status, and reports them to medical providers. They also perform procedures, monitor patients, and document care in a timely and thorough manner.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Provide education to patients and families on patient care and self-management.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse - State of Alaska
- Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
- One year of clinical nursing experience in a hospital critical care unit
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
