Job Summary
A Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) renders individualized comprehensive nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, spiritual, social, cultural, and educational needs of patients. The nurse provides preventative, supportive, and rehabilitative care based on the nursing process and hospital policy.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Teach patients/families/caregivers about patient medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and possible side effects.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse - State of Alaska
- Associate Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
- One year of clinical nursing experience in a hospital critical care unit
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
